The Federation of Australian Wool Organisations Inc. (FAWO) is calling for nominations for the 2018 Australian Wool Industry Medal.
The Australian Wool Industry Medal (AWIM) recognises men and women who have made an exceptional and sustained contribution to the Australian wool industry. The medal was first introduced in 2017 where 11 recipients from across Australia and representing all facets of the wool industry were recognized.

The monthly comparisons of Total Lots, Bales and Weight for February 2018 compared with the same period last season are:
-0.9%, -3.7% and -4.1% respectively.
The monthly comparisons of Total Lots, Bales and Weight for December 2017 compared with the same period last season are:
-10.3%, -15.4% and -15.8% respectively.
The monthly comparisons of Total Lots, Bales and Weight for January 2018 compared with the same period last season are:
+20.6%, +14.6% and +14.2% respectively.
The Australian Wool Production Forecasting Committee forecasts that shorn wool production will lift in 2017/18 to 345 mkg greasy, up by 1.4% compared with 2016/17.
