Enhancements to Certificate Verification

An online Certificate Verification service allows owners of AWTA Certificates to verify that they have legitimate versions of documents. Using an automated service, holders of AWTA documents can request an emailed copy of the original document for comparison and verification. This can be done by simply entering the certificate number and some security information from the documents they hold into a form on the AWTA Wool Testing website, a copy of the certificate is then automatically emailed directly from AWTA.

AWTA Introduces new Mulesing Reports

A new Mulesing Status Report has been introduced which expands upon the Mulesing information displayed on AWTA Combined Certificates. It has been introduced to assist companies along the wool supply chain by summarising the mulesing status of components of a consignment whilst allowing an independent check of the proportion of non-mulesed wool in their products.

Key Test Data Summary for June 2014

The monthly comparisons of Total Lots, Bales and Weight for June 2014 compared with the same period last season are -1.2%, +1.1% and +1.7% respectively.

Mount Challicum Fleece Tops Competition

An Ultrafine Merino fleece from Mount Challicum Merino Stud won the Grand Champion Fleece title at the Australian Fleece Competition held in Bendigo as part of the Australian Sheep & Wool Show during July 2014. The 16.5 micron fleece was one of almost 500 entries this year and scored 94.85 out of a possible 100 points.

AWTA Ltd Testing Fees 2014-2015

General wool testing fees have increased by 2% for the 2014/15 wool selling season, effective from 1st July 2014.
