The Victorian State Government has declared that Friday 30 September 2016 will be a public holiday in Victoria. Clients should note that the AWTA Melbourne Laboratory will be closed on this day.
Due to rain causing minor flooding and traffic delays last night, any wool samples collected from Dubbo, Parkes, Forbes and Grenfell on Tuesday, 13 September 2016 did not meet the Southbound service in time for delivery to the Melbourne wool testing laboratory overnight. Instead, the affected samples will be delivered on Thursday, 15 September 2016 and consequently some test results may be delayed.
The Australian Wool Production Forecasting Committee predicts that shorn wool production in 2016/17 will be at 325 mkg greasy, the same level as its revised estimate for the 2015/16 season.
