Avant de mesurer le rendement et le diam\u00e8tre des fibres, il faut obtenir un \u00e9chantillon repr\u00e9sentatif. Un \u00e9chantillon est pr\u00e9lev\u00e9 sur chaque balle d'un lot de vente sous la supervision d'un responsable de l'\u00e9chantillonnage de l'AWTA. Le poids de la balle est enregistr\u00e9 au moment de l'\u00e9chantillonnage.<br>&nbsp;<br>Le rendement est la quantit\u00e9 de fibres propres, \u00e0 un taux d'humidit\u00e9 standard, que l'on s'attend \u00e0 obtenir lors du traitement d'une parcelle de laine brute. La quantit\u00e9 de composants r\u00e9siduels restants est d\u00e9termin\u00e9e et soustraite afin d'obtenir la Base Laine. Ces quantit\u00e9s sont d\u00e9termin\u00e9es \u00e0 l'aide du NIRVM - Un sous-\u00e9chantillon de la laine r\u00e9cur\u00e9e est dissous dans une solution 10% de soude caustique chaude, laissant la VM pour \u00eatre s\u00e9ch\u00e9e et pes\u00e9e.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Le VM est compos\u00e9 de bavures (B), de graines et d'anas (S) et de t\u00eates dures et de brindilles (H).&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-columns is-layout-flex wp-container-core-columns-is-layout-9d6595d7 wp-block-columns-is-layout-flex\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-vertically-aligned-center is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>Une fois que tous les composants r\u00e9siduels ont \u00e9t\u00e9 mesur\u00e9s, la base de laine est calcul\u00e9e. Les bribes sont d\u00e9pos\u00e9es dans un bol contenant de l'eau et m\u00e9lang\u00e9es avant que l'eau contenant les bribes en suspension ne soit lib\u00e9r\u00e9e et ne s'\u00e9coule dans un tube \u00e0 travers une cellule de mesure contenant un r\u00e9seau de lasers. Les r\u00e9sultats combin\u00e9s de 4 000 \u00e9chantillons sont utilis\u00e9s pour calculer le diam\u00e8tre moyen des fibres. Les mesures sont effectu\u00e9es sur des fibres individuelles, ce qui permet d'accumuler une distribution des diam\u00e8tres et de calculer le coefficient de variation du diam\u00e8tre (CVD).
